GD Express Sdn. Bhd. or also well known as GDEX is a courier company who has established in 1997. GDEX now has grown steadily spanning over 150 stations in Malaysia and Singapore after the entry of Mr Teong Teck Lean as controlling stakeholders in 2000. GDEX is one of a courier company that has been listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia with 2 main operating segments, which are, GD Express Delivery and GD Logistics (Kok, 2017). For GD Express Delivery, it consists of domestic express carrier and international express carrier. For domestic express carrier, GDEX has extensive network coverage in whole Malaysia by provide various solutions to meet their customers’ needs. While for international express courier, GDEX has formed extended network with its business partners, so that the cross borders deliveries became easier. Next is GD Logistics or also called as GDL. GDL which was established in 2012 to serve a rapidly growing demand for Logistics and Freight services in Malaysia.

GDL has grown to become one of the most active logistics service providers in Malaysia with modern warehouse management capabilities, in order to cater their customers across many industries by providing end-to-end logistics solutions. GDL expertise also includes road, air, and sea freight. Apart from service quality, GDL also committed to serve customers in the most cost effective and efficient manner. Lastly, GDEX operates a total network of 410 stations which comprising 100 branches, 57 agents, 11 lodge-in centres, 242 reseller agencies and 4384 staffs throughout Peninsular and East Malaysia. As of June 2020, GDEX has their own 1300 trucks and vans which we can classify GDEX as a private type of road freight services. Not only that, all of GDEX vehicles are equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) devices, where customer’s shipments can be traced through Real Time Tracking (RTT) and is controlled by GDEX Fleet Management Program where customers are able to check their shipment through e-tracking system by GDEX.
