HOW GDEX IMPLEMENT THEIR STRATEGY TO ACHIEVE THE BEST RESULT?
GDEX is known as a big and well-known customer. GDEX already set up a KPI and guideline that need to be followed by everyone in the branches. Every branch has its own strategy need to be achieved while following the KPI and guideline that has been set up. GDEX also send its staff to go to the training in order to improve its staffs’ performance. Most of the time, the head of branches will be sent to the training program, this is because from the head of branches, they will pass the information and teach the other staff with the new things. Other than customer service and supervisor and new staffs, GDEX also provide an interpersonal skill that include how to counter with the difficult customer.
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
Service
In term of services, GDEX will prioritise its customers and it also seem the shortest time taken by GDEX to send the parcel to its customers is maximum 2 days. Other courier services don’t implement this shortest time taken like GDEX do and the charges is charged at different rates. This can be seen when GDEX provide first come first serve, this strategy shows that only GDEX has this for its services. GDEX shows that customer is their priority and they need to be fair among its customers and they need to do something to satisfy its customers. GDEX treat its customers fairly without needing any extra charges even the customer’s request to send it from southern to northern, it will still the same price.
Materials Handling
GDEX is an observant company where they will observe its environment and choose the best things for them. As for materials handling, GDEX will separate all the fragile items from the normal items and put them aside. This is because when the material is fragile, it has any other way to take care of it. Different method will be used in order to handle and maintain the goods in a good condition. GDEX is the only courier service that uses this method.
SHORT TERM OBJECTIVE
GDEX’s objective is they want to increase their sales because each branch, they will have the KPI and their target that need to be achieved. As for GDEX, it is important to improve their service. for example, the good old days GDEX delivery was not available for to every location and they only available for a certain place yet now GDEX has improve its service where all the places can be accessed easily for delivery by GDEX by providing the agents and new facilities to it.
LONG TERM OBJECTIVE
In long term, GDEX’s target is to stay in the courier service industry in a long time and making everyone knows about GDEX as a good courier service with a better in handling the materials, hub etc. GDEX also plan something in the future that will be in one of the long-term objectives.
HOW GDEX PLAN SOMETHING AND MAKING SURE THAT IT CAN BE ACHIEVED
In every company, there must be many departments and not every department is involved at one time. There must be a top management line. From that they know that everything will start from the top management and then it will follow the flow until to the last line in the hierarchy of an organization. Every single thing or decision will be made by HQ and cannot everyone cannot make a decision unless headquarters. Any decision, HQ will be the one that responsible to prepare a memo to every small decision until a huge decision so that the decision made will be the same decision for every branches.
In some cases, branches can make decision towards a small problem or big problem, but HQ will provide certain times to branches and let the branches implement it first in the testing stage and give the feedback to them after the time given is over. If the feedback given is okay then branches can move on with the new decision made but if there is something with the feedback then HQ will not proceed it and says that the decision making is still in the investigation phase and can’t be implemented in the company yet. This is because GDEX will always try and error until it has no error.
HOW DO GDEX EVALUATE THEIR PLAN?
Feedback and survey are the methods used by GDEX to evaluate and it will be executed every year between staff and customers. It is important to ask for the feedback from the customer because it will show whether GDEX has achieved the target based on KPI or not. Internal evaluation is between GDEX and its staffs. External evaluation is between GDEX and its customers. So far GDEX receives a very good and encouraging feedback from customers based on their upgraded system and service.
